Hiring Process

At KIPP Delta, we believe the interview process should be mutually beneficial – we want to get to know you, and we want you to get to know us! We also know that application processes can sometimes feel confusing. We don’t want to keep you in the dark. Here’s how it works at KIPP Delta:

Application Submission

Generally, you can expect to hear back from us within 2 weeks of submitting your application regarding the status of your application. Our team reviews applications on a rolling basis, so you are encouraged to submit your application as soon as possible! On our Careers page, you will have the opportunity to read all job descriptions and submit applications to any positions.

Phone Interview

Our process is differentiated based on the position for which you’ve applied as well as your background and experiences. Our phone interview stage is an opportunity for us to learn more about you!

Schools Review Application Materials

We’ll share your candidacy with schools for which you are a strong fit and/or for which you apply. You will hear from us within 5 business days of completing your phone interview regarding the status of your application.

Reference Checks

If we haven’t already, we will check your references prior to your in-person interview. However, our team may reach out to references at any point in the process. As part of the interview process, three professional references will be requested at this stage. We ask that you share the names, email addresses, and phone numbers of your references and that you explain how they know you. One of your professional references should be your current or most recent manager.

In-Person Interview

The next step is an in-person interview with a school leader or a Central Office staff member. This will look different for each position and will be coordinated by the school team or the Talent Team. If you are interviewing for a teacher role, you will be requested to conduct a sample lesson at the school site. We’ll be looking for your ability to lead a 25-50 minute guest lesson, and we’ll want to see your classroom management skills, your overall teacher personality, and lesson delivery. After the lesson, you’ll reflect with school-based faculty and have the opportunity to ask the hiring manager any questions you may have. All additional relevant information will be shared with you to prepare for that sample lesson.

Final Decision

At this point, you will learn if any of our schools would like to offer you a spot on our team. The entire process should take no more than 40 days!
